Martha Ellen Wisbey, Ph.D., LCSW
Dr. Wisbey is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the State of Florida with a Doctor of Philosophy in Counseling and Human Development Services. She has served as an educator,
advisor and counselor at several higher education institutions working in the area of disability, diversity and crisis management. Throughout the course of her career, she has taught courses in the field of multicultural education, college student development, social work and counseling.
As a clinician she utilizes a systems strengths based approach that is therapeutic, empowering and developmental. She works with individuals, couples and groups to create positive, resilient and manageable change in their lives. Assisting clients with disabilities, either acquired or congenital in full participation and engagement in their communities is a strong area of interest as well as experience for Dr. Wisbey. In addition, cultural and psychosocial identity are areas that she has received intentional training at the University of Georgia and Emory University in Georgia.
Supervision and development of clinical competency is a strong focus of her work.
She has been a social worker for an inpatient hospital (HCA) behavioral health floor, served as a member of a minister’s support group that offered support to spiritual advisors,
attended workshops in Warm Springs, Georgia to increase knowledge of supportive employment principles and been active with parents attending IEP meetings in the school system.
She provides treatment for individuals presenting with anxiety, depression, behavior disorders (AD/HD, ODD, CD),mood disorders, thought disorders, PTSD, substance abuse or dependence, and relational issues.
She is well-versed in a number of different types of evaluations including clinical, psycho-educational as well as bariatric assessments.
