Kris Winchell, Ph.D., ABSNP
Dr. Winchell is a Licensed Psychologist who earned her degree in School Psychology from Temple University, a program approved by the American Psychological Association. She served as a full-time school psychology Intern with the Owen J. Roberts School District located in Pottstown Pennsylvania. She received training in psycho-diagnostic evaluation at the Temple University Psychodiagnostic Clinic. Dr. Winchell has worked as a school psychologist and was supervisor of special services for Egg Harbor City Schools in New Jersey. For a number of years she worked in private practice under the supervision of Dr. Irwin Hyman, ABPP, providing therapy for adolescents, couples and families, as well as psycho-diagnostic assessment. She also consulted with teachers regarding classroom management, behavioral difficulties and individual educational plans (IEP’s). She is well-versed in educational law (ADA, 504, IDEA) and has expertise in placement and determination of appropriate services. Dr. Winchell underwent specialized training to earn a Diplomate in School Neuropsychology. Services include comprehensive assessments, diagnostic and treatment services for children, adolescents, and young, midlife and senior adults. She also provides therapy for individuals, families, couples, and children using cognitive-behavioral, rational-emotive, systems, and other brief and/or long-term supportive psychotherapy techniques. She provides treatment for individuals presenting with anxiety, depression, behavior disorders (AD/HD, ODD, CD), mood disorders, thought disorders, PTSD, PDDs, eating disorders, substance abuse or dependence, and relational issues. She is well-versed in a number of different types of evaluations including clinical, psycho-educational (neuropsychological, cognitive, academic, visual-motor), and pre-employment (police department civilian staff and officers and fire fighters).
