Dr. Kosch has had several decades of clinical practice in a primary care medical setting, working with family physicians, nurses, nutritionists, and pharmacists in providing comprehensive health care services. She is Professor Emeritus from Community Health and Family Medicine, University of Florida, where her major academic activities involved training family physicians and completing academic publications focusing on the biopsychosocial model. Dr. Kosch organized and directed a Family Stress Clinic, where family medicine residents, psychologists, and clinical social workers provided mental health services to primary care patients and trained clinicians from those disciplines. Dr. Kosch is also certified as a Family Mediator by the Supreme Court of Florida for Alternative Dispute Resolution and has worked with families during marital dissolution processes to lessen conflict and reach consensus.
As a psychotherapist, Dr. Kosch counsels individuals, couples and families and applies approaches that utilize others to achieve better emotional functioning in persons experiencing psychosocial stressors. She focuses on an integrated health model of wellness and illness, consulting with physicians who recommend exercise, dietary practices and other health promotion approaches.
