Bio
Lorelle M. DeStefano is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who earned her master’s degree from Radford University. Ms. Stefano earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Emory & Henry College, and she is currently completing her last year as a PhD candidate with Walden University.
Ms. DeStefano has worked in various settings including private practice, as well as federally grant funded programs which she designed, developed, and implemented. She has court experience as a court liaison for Federal Court and Probation-Abingdon and Family and with the Domestic Court in Virginia. She also has experience with both for-profit and non-profit community integrative health centers. After relocating to Florida, Ms. DeStefano worked as an outpatient therapist where she gained valuable experience working with young children.
Ms. DeStefano established an award-winning substance abuse and recovery program which is the current model for all federally funded integrated health care centers across the US. In addition, she worked with Bristol City and Washington county school systems for over 10 years.
Ms. Destefano has worked with populations ranging from ages 5 to geriatrics as well as with populations such as at-risk youths. She is experienced in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectal Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Relapse Prevention Therapy (RPT), Trauma, PTSD, and neuroscience.
As Ms. Destefano continues to stive to keep abreast of evidenced-based practices, she has started to incorporate EFT or Emotionally Focused Couple Therapy into her practice. Her specialty is working with individual adults and children, couples, and families dealing with a variety of issues, including depression and anxiety, couple discord, conflict resolution, sexual difficulties, trauma, parenting (including co-parenting), divorce, and more.
